Music from Iceland isn't the one that comes up first in mind, i have no special attraction for this country, neither i understand their language. By coincidence i ended-up liking two of their singers, the first one is probably the best known, Björk. She's totally nuts or at least act like it, but she also has talent, i always had mixed feelings about such people, but it doesn't hurt listening to her. My favorite album is Homogenic, with a special love for the song Jóga.
The other one is probably less known, i'm talking about Sigur Ros, i went to see him based on a friend advice few years back at the great 9:30 club of Washington DC. Three anecdotes about him, first he plays guitar with an violin archer, second, he makes weird noise in his guitar mic, and third he made an album called "()" with titles "Untitled 1", "Untitled 2"... Great workaround against piracy ;)
Anyway, i'm trying to find the song i like the best, i would go for 'flugufrelsarinn' (I hope i spelled this right).
Come on Iceland, get us more talents like them ! And organize a big Java event so i can come visit you !

I had a hard time at the Sigur Rós concert that I saw at the 9:30 club (maybe the same one you went to?). I had just come back from France that same day and really, REALLY tired... The music is beautiful but it can also lull you to sleep, so I was struggling to stay awake! :)

Yes it's definitely not a music to wake you up.
hmmmmm......Sigur Ros is a band,.....not the name of the lead singer! and there is lots of good music music coming fom iceland......check out Mugison and Mum.
