Usually i am not a big fan of documentaries about bands, i really enjoy music DVD though, my collection is getting quite big.
Heima from Sigur Rós, received such good critics that i had to watch it, and i don't regret my purchase at all.
Heima is not just a documentary about the band but also on Iceland. During the movie, we can follow the tour they gave in Iceland after a world wild tour. The particularity of this tour was that it was free to attend and not advertised. The targeted audience was local people and this idea is just great, of course it would not work for bigger or more accessible countries but still the idea is theirs and is nice.
The movie shows how this band is humble and simple, on top of their great music it's a wonderful combo.
It really gave me the will to visit Iceland, i know "Iceland air" used to (or still do) sell airplane tickets from France to USA with a stop for a day in Reykjavík, i should have use that opportunity !
Anyway, i just love that DVD, the images are really awesome. And there is in my opinion a good split between time spent on people talking and music.

Hey!
Music documentaries is the best, man. After watching both this DVD (Heima) and Mastodon's DVD I discovered great bands.
Don't know if it's good or bad but it's like you LEARN to like the band because the DVD (hopefully) puts you in the right mood, when you listen to the music as well. Most of the music we like relates us to good times and when you listed to that music it puts you in the same emotional status... I think at least :)
And hey, about that blog you wrote of the 450D/XSi, I'd like that camera too and I checked it out in the store yesterday. But what I didn't like was that they uses the big LCD for all the metering and "modeisch" parameters. Just because of that I consider the 350D instead.
Peace
